Rio Puerco badlands, distant Cabezon

some of the wildest country yet encountered, and just over the other side of the Jemez/Nacimiento from Los Alamos. Beautiful sandstone canyons and mesas, petrified wood, pottery shards, the works. Hardly saw anyone out there, either, except for a couple Navajos gather herbs, a forest service biologist, and 3 drunk kids in a new Toyota truck.
